View from the 6

When Big A "found" a lost digital camera while still working at the airport, the older model I had became obsolete so recently, I decided to start carrying it around with me for those camera moments. After about a week of forgetting, I finally remembered to toss it into the purse. What a great day to remember.

Autumn over Wendys

Another autumnal shot and a rather disappointing reflection of the American car buyer. What's with all the boring white, gray and silver? I'm giving my props to the two people who drive the bright yellow vehicles in this photo.

Where there's smoke...

...there's fire.

This turned out to be a 3 alarm fire in a nearby apartment complex. Yesterday morning just outside of Detroit, there was another large fire that claimed the lives of 3 children and an adult due to the use of either a hot plate or a space heater since they did not have electricity for the last 5 years and gas for 4 years (I'll post an opinion piece about this tomorrow). The 5:00 news people went from that story, which they called a tragedy, which it is, to one that they said isn't (and they did actually say that) and proceeded to talk about the fire in this photo. Sure no one died but isn't it a tragedy that a handful of families have lost everything and are now homeless? These people left this morning and headed into work with plans for this evening when they got home: what to have for dinner, a favorite show on tonight, perhaps they needed to do laundry, etc. What about any animals that were in these apartments that didn't make it out? This flippant attitude reminds me why watching television news is a waste of time.

I totally agree with your last sentence!

Although I've gotten some good shots of fall color, I've been pretty unimpressed this fall.

A house a few blocks from me burnt down yesterday. That is the worst way to lose a house in my opinion. At least with tornados, floods, earthquakes, gas explosions, etc, there might be something left to find and pick up. With a fire, nothing.

The only Hummer here in town is a bright yellow. What a way to draw even more attention to yourself.

Oh, the first two shots didn't do much for me.

Driver - I don't think I'm old enough to be impressed with the fall color. That seems to be reserved for people 60 and over so you're on the cusp. :-)

Ed - I have to agree with you. Big A had a kitchen fire in the last place he lived before we cohabitated and I remember walking in afterwards and it's very eery to see and smell that.

CG - Sorry. I should be descriptive for the handicapped.
