Back in February of 2009, I posted the Lawn Nazi's Guide to Tree Removal as well as some companion pictures of this poor tree. I am happy to say that this poor trees long death has come to an end today - it is out of the ground and now laying on its side. I'm pretty sure it will be about 6 weeks or more before he cuts the tree remnants if he continues to use his handsaw. I feel another photo op coming on.
As I was seeing this happen, I was doing my pre-lawn mowing routine of picking up Hooch's solid waste, most of which was along the fenceline by this tree. As I was making my way closer to where they were, I decided I would say something that is quintessential Lawn Nazi and his wife. Much like they do, I too would point out the obvious:
Murf: One down, one more tree to go before your yard is completely treeless.
Lawn Nazi: Yeah, yeah...and I did it without spending $1,500.
Murf: Yeah but it took you 15 years.
Lawn Nazi's wife: Whatever.
This was my second favorite conversation tonight. The first took place a bit later when we were chatting with our other neighbor over the fence. She mentioned that they were having steak, baked potato and corn on the cob for dinner. Big A then said "2 starches?!? You shouldn't have 2 starches." I've said this a few times to him when we've planned upcoming meals. Now I have verification that he does listen!

You consider corn a starch? Since when? Baked beans and potatoes, yes, but not corn, and I will not argue about this?

Cheers.
I will not be the one to disillusion you, dear R. :-)
That last thing about the two starches makes you sound eerily like my wife. That is very scary!
The thought of being married to you is scary. ;-)
