The Christmas Coupons

This year for Christmas, Big A and I decided to forgo much of the gift exchanging that we did in the past and instead stick with stocking stuffers and "coupons" for each other. We mostly stuck to that although we both bought a few smaller gifts for the other so there were a few things to unwrap. Just as I thought when it came to the coupons, Big A and his art skills on the coupons to me surpassed mine which were typed up on Word, printed and then glued to red and green paper. Below are the coupons that I received from him:

This coupon is pretty self-explanatory. Occasionally he will go out to Wendy's Wednesday with us so these 10 lunches does not include Wendy's.

"Wawa" is the code word that is used for "walk" when we want to discuss it in a way that Hooch doesn't understand and hence, doesn't get excited about. Every so often I will ask Big A if he wants to go with us but his usual complaint is that we walk to fast for his short legs (as depicted in the picture). That is a valid complaint and something that I think I will need clarification on when I redeem this coupon - at whose speed do we walk?

This is the Wild Card, to use Uno speak or, as I think of it, the Golden Ticket. This will probably be saved for most of the year.

This coupon was the most surprising of the five. The Amish country that he begrudgingly refers to is actually Shipshewana, Indiana. It's not my favorite spot in the world but every few years I like to go and stare at the Amish. In the past, it's usually one of those 'Hey, we should go there' and then I tend to get busy and forget about it. Now, thanks to the image of Big A dressed in the Amish attire, I won't be able to.

Last but not least, this coupon refers to my dislike of ordering pizza and getting it at the door. I'm not sure why I dislike it as much as I do. I do it if it's just me but if Big A is around, I try to sweet talk him into doing both. It bothers him because he grew up in a household full of other people that disliked doing it so he usually had to do it even then. As I keep reminding him, he wanted to marry an orphan. Careful what he wishes for. This was the only coupon that I unknowingly duplicated. He actually received two coupons for me to order the pizza and get it at the door.

Addendum: How do you say coupon? Is it "cue-pon" or "koo-pon"?

I say cue-pon.

Those are hillarious and very creative. Something I haven't thought about since I was young and pennyless and looking for something to give my mom. Cash is the easy/lazy way for sure.

I say cue-pon too. The dictionary didn't help much. They have both pronunciations.

You give your mom cash?

No, paying cash for one gift and being done with it for the rest of the year.

Maggie - That it does. I wonder if I could Photoshop it onto a real scorpion and become popular for having a picture of the first ever hairy-tailed scorpion. :-)
