Miscellaneous Friday stuff

* I purchased new shoes recently and Big A offered to help insert the shoelaces. When we were done, we discovered that we both did it differently. At the starting two holes nearest the toe, he went up through the holes while I went down through them. Is there a correct way to lace up shoes? Are you an upper or a downer?

* Saw the Wendy's guy on Wednesday where he yet again mentioned about finally being in a stable relationship. As he was expounding on how much they had in common, I said, "So she likes looking at naked women too?" It's probably not nice to pick on the mentally unstable but it sure is entertaining, at least in this case, to watch as a comment slowly (and I mean slowly) sinks in. There must be a 10 second delay between the front of the Wendy's counter and the other side of it. Also, he was making hamburgers so that just confirmed my order of chili. When he asked me what sandwich I was getting, I told him that since he was making them, I was going with chili but I said it with a smile (my trademark: truth in jest). He didn't believe me until the girl taking my order said that if she saw him making the sandwiches, she too would order something else. While he seemed to take my comment as joking around, he was a bit perturbed at her comment. Thankfully, ordering chili and a glass of water takes all of about half a minute so I happily took my tray and left before I could hear him say anything to her.

* Tomorrow is Sweetest Day. While guys try to play off Valentines Day as a Hallmark holiday, this truly is one. I believe it is also regional as well. Big A's treat is that I will be making dinner tonight. I guess he's tired of frying up the bacon that I bring home. Maybe he will greet me at the door wrapped in saranwrap instead of sweats although I can't see how that would look appealing on anyone.
