Right after Tom put the vinyl cloak around me, he grabbed the scissors and just started cutting big chunks of hair off. He had to in order to get rid of the length before he could finally do the actual haircut which I had printed a picture of from the 'America's Next Top Model' website and brought it in (although I left wondering what picture he was looking at because I didn't really see a resemblance). As he was doing this, the ladies getting their manicures both stopped and watched. I don't think either of them blinked for about 30 seconds and then one said, 'Going short, eh?' I was so excited about it that I overlooked my dislike of people who point out the obvious. I was so excited, in fact, that I forgot that Sage may disown me for it. When I left, feeling about 10 pounds lighter, I got to thinking about women, their vanity and the things that they do and won't do. Personally, I don't see the point of having long hair if all one does is pull it back. Since I've returned to the short hair, there have been handfuls of women that say that they would love to go short but can't because of a boyfriend that wouldn't like it or because their hair won't allow it (but yet this woman uses hot rollers and a blow dryer to get her look every day so that excuse doesn't fly). Before I get holier than thou, I reflect back on Canada Guy #2 and how he liked the longer hair. I had grown it not as long as this time around but long-ish during the time that I knew him (and cut it extremely short after it ended. I found comfort in not looking like what he remembered). It's interesting to see the things that people will do for a significant other.

We need to see it!
I got my hair cut today. I made Pauly cut it SHORT. We've been having an argument over the length for about 8 months now. I finally went in today and told him to cut it short and not argue. I feel so fresh, so clean! And I look hot too.
I'll show you mine if you show me yours!
Isn't it funny what a great haircut can do?
you're last sentence about what we do for significant others reminded me that you really did this for Big A who doesn't like long hair in the sink (something I never complain about for if I did, the scissors would come out, but then even if I don't complain, the scissors still come out...
And don't you as well do things to would cease near daily complaints from a significant other? :-)
I cut my hair short when I was sixteen and have kept it that way ever since. I like the fact that it dries in the time it takes me to walk from the shower to the bed.
Wow, that's really short. Mine dries in about 35 minutes - the time from when it was first wetted and when I arrive at work.
As women get OLDER they often prefer for short hair. By the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
Thanks, Kevin...I think.
