I did, however, run across this interesting article in our local newspaper about the number of Americans that read books along with the demographics broken down into race and region of the country (click on the picture..it's easier to read that way):

The most interesting tidbit was that Southerners read more religious books and romance novels. Sage would be hardpressed to admit to the latter but I bet he does. It says so here in black and white. Journalists never lie.

if you finished two books, then your better off than 1/4 of Americans!
But Sage does not read romance books, or at least only on occassions. I did read The Notebook and a long time ago I read Bridges of Madison County...
Perhaps it would do Sage some good to read romance books.
What surprised me most about that was that it was only 1 in 4 people who didn't read a book. I'm guessing among my peers here, it is more like 4 in 5.
Funny, but two genres I won't touch unless pressed is romance and religion. I positively run the other way if they are combined! ;D
Speaking of combining religion and romance in one book, I saw someone in a restaurant eating alone, reading The Thorn Birds. I never watched the miniseries. I should read the book. Funny that Richard Chamberlain played a priest who was in love with a woman yet in real life he's gay. Now THAT is acting. :-)
